Max Deegan
Leinster got off to a good solid start with a bonus point win over the Dragons at Rodney Parade. A Rodney parade that's undergone miraculous transformation, very fancy, grass even! Not before time, that pitch was a disgrace. It was fairly evenly matched in the first half, and then Leinster took it away easily enough in the second. We should should be beating the Dragons like that, but we often haven't always in the past.
Good solid debuts for Max Deegan and Jordan Lamour, and Scott Fardy is adding a good hard edge to the team.
I watched the Ulster Cheetahs match, and Scarlets Kings matches. Fairly impressive debuts from the SA sides, certainly in the entertainment stakes. These teams are fairly thrown together, and are only going to get better. Ulster looked good, the forwards and backs combining well, and Tommy Bowe looked sharp.
Connacht and Glasgow played a tight match in atrocious conditions - a loss for the Galwegians but not too shabby against the Scottish galacticos
